Bs As English High School

This +140 years old school is the crib of Argentine Football.

Founded by educator Alexander Watson Hutton—the father of Argentine football—this school had an innovative educational approach centered on his belief that sports help students control their impulses, learn to cooperate with one another, and ultimately become empathetic and well-balanced individuals.

Belgrano Athletic Club

¼ founders of both 1st Argentine Football League and Rugby Championship.

Along with Alumni (BA English High School's Football Team) this sportsclub dominated the Argentine Football scene for decades, creating the first Argentinian derby.

Nowadays, football is no longer practiced here but it's one of the most relevant teams in the Argentine's Rugby Union.

This is one of the various Armenian Institutions in our city, a very well organized community that contributed to our country in many different aspects.

San Patricio Irish Church

Founded in 1927, with the rise of the British Catholic community in Belgrano.

Its history was indelibly marked on July 4th, 1976, when the last civic-military dictatorship perpetrated the San Patricio Massacre within its walls, the bloodiest attack against the Catholic Church in Argentine history.

Bet-El Jewish Community

A Notable Jewish school/temple in world's 5th largest diaspora .

Founded by Rabbi Marshal Meyer, it became the flagship of the Masorti Movement in LATAM, adding modern youth camps, music, & active community roles.

During the military dictatorship, Meyer denounced HR abuses, visited political prisoners, supported families of the disappeared, & became 1 of the few religious leaders to openly challenge the regime.

After democracy was restored, he served on the commission that investigated the regime's crimes & produced the historic Nunca Más report. In recognition, he received Argentina's highest honor, La Orden del Gral. San Martín.

Pestalozzi Deutsche Schule

German-Humanist school that sheltered hundreds of refugees during WWII.

Fundada en 1934 a raiz del creciente antisemitismo y expansión de la ideología nazi en otras escuelas alemanas.

Su propuesta educativa llamó la atención de intelectuales como Stefan Zweig, Sigmund Freud, Lion Feuchtwanger, Thomas y Heinrich Mann, Albert Einstein, entre otros, quienes enviaron cartas apoyando su fundación.

San Pablo Lutheran Church

100yo Lutheran church founded by the german inhabitants of Belgrano R.

The 1st Lutheran congregation in the neighborhood was established in 1917, but it wasn't until 1926 that the neogothic building we see today was inaugurated.
